Quick Apply Full-time 2 hours ago Full Job Description Montco Recovery Center is looking for a dynamic Full Time Substance Abuse Counselor that has experience with individuals who have struggled with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health issues.
A background in art/music/pet therapy, mindfulness, trauma, or any other specialty practice is a plus as we strive to offer a unique clinical experience to clients on the road to recovery from substance abuse.
Responsibilities Provide individual counseling to clients, maintain open communication with families, conduct family therapy sessions, and assist families in finding resources to help themselves as appropriate Facilitate clinical and psycho education group sessions at the PHP, IOP, and/or OP levels of care.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and make clinical recommendations for the various levels of care Assist with developing treatment plans and support client empowerment Participate in twice weekly treatment team meetings and once weekly individual supervision.
Demonstrate adequate preparation and understanding of client issues, progress, areas of resistance and use good clinical judgment in moving patient through various levels of care Maintain clinical records, document the client's progress accurately as it relates to treatment plans, ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate and keep clinical records secure at all times Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries while demonstrating good problem-solving skills Be effective in finding and linking client with internal and external resources as needed to meet patient needs.
Assist client in managing outside stressors (legal, financial, vocational, etc.
) according to the best interests of the client's progress in recovery Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and function well as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff.
Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience Master's degree with 2 years experience in the substance use disorder field CADC or relevant credential or eligibility to receive relevant credentials.
